Monotony
Journal1 minen
Not wallowing in the monotony of “I love you,”
because there are still stars tonight.
I don’t think either of us would mind—
if tomorrow’s truths still slipped from each other’s lips.
“I miss you”—
like missing something white…
dandelions, or peonies, or forget-me-nots.
And maybe, with their snickers—
If you’re leaving,
please take with you
the ramblings of a man
alone in this moment.
In the dead of night,
inside strangers’ heads,
I just want to hold you—
even if I’m the only one who does.
